Lincoln & Jenson

There’s just something about twins that makes my heart happy. It could be that there’s double the cuteness, double the snuggles, or it could be the magical way they interact with each other, but whatever it is, Twins are just so cool. I had the honor of not only capturing these babies while still in their mamas belly, but I also got to capture their birth and then their newborn portraits as well! The images below are my favorites.

Twins are a passion of mine, and I strive to always provide moms with an amazing experience, and beautiful portraits of both of their babies!

Kindlin 3 months

Look at this sweet baby! He came in for his newborn portraits, and then again here for his 3 month session! He is always such a joy to work with and has SO MUCH personality. Enjoy these precious pics!

Kindlin was part of my rainbow representatives, a group of 6 babies who each represented a color of the rainbow! They have all come back to the studio for a 3 month session and I hope to have each baby back for a group session soon! Kindlin’s color was green.

I am so excited to continue watching this sweet boy grow!

Santa Claus is coming to town!

This year I opened 2 days of Santa sessions, and sold out every single session. Over the course of the 2 days, I photographed 71 kids with Santa!

kids sitting with Santa

Our Santa, Santa of Shreveport, IS Santa. I cannot be convinced otherwise! He came into the studio with a HO HO HO, and brought joy to parents and children alike! The studio was filled with Christmas magic, and we had so much fun. He even got the best hugs!

Kids who came for a visit loved getting to read a book with Santa, and I loved photographing the magic!

kids reading books with santa

While most kids loved him, the big man in red did have a few kiddos who were quite frankly terrified of him. Santa however took this in stride, and accepted any and all babies, even the ones who clearly did not have a good time.

Overall we had a blast. It was exhausting, but I loved getting to see so many repeat faces, and meeting a bunch of new families! I hope everyone has a safe, and wonderfully Merry Christmas. Try and stay warm out there!

Below, I’m just going to post some of my faves!

This picture cracks me up! He looks like hes about to take off running!

These are my boys Teddy and Alex, and you can ALMOST not tell that Teddy is crying his eyes out!

This kid was not to sure of Santa, but we adapted! He did love his trains

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!

White, Bright, and Airy

When I create a new room in the studio, I want to try it out as soon as possible. I did a model call, and these amazing pictures are the result. I am in LOVE with this room!

Between the babies, the bumps, and the mommy and me’s, we had a blast testing out the new room. Safe to say it was a success!

Kason

YALL. This baby was magical. He is so stinking cute and precious and wonderful and slept like an absolute dream! I loved capturing this families first portraits as a family of 4!

LOOK AT HIS SQUISHY ROLLS!

The sweetest brothers!

The TOES!

I loved getting the photograph this family. Newborns are my fave!

3 births in less than 12 hours

As a birth photographer, I am aware that babies do their own thing, come at their own time and follow no set schedule. Babies can come early, late or at a supposedly scheduled time! A couple of months ago I experienced something super amazing, stressful, exhausting, and incredible. I had a scheduled induction happening, and that same morning, a twin mama whose birth I was also capturing went into labor! I stayed in contact with both moms, getting dilation updates, and communicating about what stage of labor they were each in. Dalila, my singleton mama was induced, and her labor escalated faster than Kristoin’s, my twin mama. This is how my evening went!

4:30 PM -

Dalila let me know she was at a 5, so gathered my stuff and headed to St. Mary’s. She had already gotten the epidural, and was hanging out in the room with her mom and cousin! Her contractions had slowed a little, and she was still dilated to a 5, so we just had to play the waiting game! For the next few hours, we passed the time by working, sleeping, or doing word searches. At one point, Dalila wanted her hair put into a bun and while her cousin tried his very best, he gave up and I took over! Wearing my own hair in a bun 90% of the time definitely gave me the skill to help there! Dalila’s partner wasn’t able to make it to the birth, but she was still included! They facetimed for a bit, before Dalila tried getting some rest. Her labor had stalled, and contraction were no longer consistent.

8:00 -

Dalila had to make the choice about getting a C-section. Her lack of progression was a concern for the Doctor and Dalila took some time to talk with her care team, as well as her mom and partner and they made the decision to go ahead with the C-section. Her family took the time to pray, and then she was wheeled to the OR while her mom and I gowned up and waiting to be brought back to the OR as well.

Baby Skylar was born a little after 8pm, and the doctors were quick to reassure mom that she made the right choice to get a C-section. This baby had folded herself into mom in such a way it took a couple of nurses applying counterpressure and a doctor carefully dislodging baby girl to get her out of mama! She came in to this world ready to stretch it out and be free.

She is absolutely perfect.

At 7 pounds, 14 ounces and 19 inches long, Skylar was a chunky little thing, with a beautiful head of hair! She was weighed, measured, and cleaned up, while mom was getting stitched up, and I was able to capture some of her gorgeous features! She was then swaddled, and mama finally got to meet her sweet baby.

Meanwhile -

Throughout the night I had been getting updates from Kristoin about the progression of her labor. She went to labor and delivery around 1-2pm, and was around a 4-5cm dilated. Her contractions were intense, but her labor progressed slowly. I left St. Mary’s at 9pm, and went straight to Highland’s birth place where Kristoin had just received her epidural. When I got there, she was laughing with her husband Cory and the nurse, and was still at about a 5.

For awhile we played the game of hurry up and wait. Rush around getting everything ready and then wait, since we have already established babies don’t follow any schedule and they arrive when they want to! Kristoin’s plan was to have a vaginal birth, but with twins, she would need to give birth in the OR room, just in case. Towards the end of the night, or early in the morning some would say, Kristoin’s labor increased in intensity. Even with the epidural, she was feeling the contractions and the nausea was hitting pretty hard.

It was early morning when it was finally time. She was dilated to a 9 and it was time to move to the OR. Because it wasn’t a C-section, Cory and I were not required to wear the full gown, and instead just had to wear a cap and booties! Kristoin was wheeled off, and we joined her in the OR shortly after

It was finally time to meet the boys! Baby A, Lincoln came first, with a short umbilical cord so Dr. Bellman wasn’t able to place him on Kristoin’s chest, but Dad was still able to cut the cord! Baby B, Jensen came a few minutes later, and he was able to hang out on mama’s chest while dad cut the cord! Because both babies were early, they did need to be checked asap. So they were whisked to the warmers.

Baby A, Lincoln was doing great, breathing on his own, and chill as can be, but Baby B, Jensen needed a little help, so the care team gave him some oxygen. Both boys are beautiful and perfect. They were born at 34 weeks, but were good sized little dudes!

Lincoln was: 6.8 pounds at birth

Jenson was: 5.13 pounds at birth.

It didn’t take long before finally, they were able to be wrapped up and mom was able to hold both her boys outside of her body together for the first time.

This was such an amazing experience. I’ve captured a good amount of babies being born to this world, but it was pretty magical to see it happen and document the journeys for 3 babies in less than 12 hours. I left that hospital around 8am, exhausted, hungry, and so proud to have been invited into the delivery room of two amazingly strong women, to document their birth story.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Birth is my absolute fave!

Magnolia

This sweet girl came in for her session, and while she was a little unsure of me at first, she opened up real quick and gave me ALL the smiles! I even stuck mom in one of the dresses from my client closet and captured some beautiful mommy and me pictures! These sessions were so stinking cute.

What made you choose Growing with Gamble Photography for your photography needs?

I chose GWG Photography due to the beautiful images I've seen that friends have had done. Not only is the work stunning, but the pricing, client closet, and setups make it less stressful on someone like myself.

What we’re you nervous about going into your session?

At first I was nervous our 1 year old wouldn't smile or cooperate with her being around someone new and her being in an unfamiliar place. But Ashley made her laugh, smile and let her be herself.

How do you feel now, after receiving your images and products?

I am blown away by the images we got back. I knew they would be beautiful regardless because I think our kid is the absolute cutest. But there's not a single word to describe how happy we are with the images we received.

My favorite moment from our session would have to be when Ashley pulled the curtain trying to get a good picture and Mj kepy wrapping herself in it.

If you're ever looking for a photographer that will make you feel at ease the moment you walk in the door, GWGP is the place to go. I was nervous at first due to being around someone new but it was short lived the second we walked in. I felt like we had known Ashley for years even though we had just met. And I think that's the type of comfort and ease anyone should have with a photographer. We can't wait for many more sessions!

I loved getting to know this sweet family, and cannot wait to see them again for Christmas sessions this week!

My Monroe Crew

3 years ago I was a brand new mom who had to pivot her expectations of motherhood. I had envisioned that I would exclusively breastfeed my babies, and didnt really prepare for any other outcomes. Except thats not what happened. I have IGT (insufficient glandular tissue), and only made a max of 2 ounces a day no matter what I tried. My son was having issues with his formula and I was wallowing in that post partum mom guilt. I decided to make a post on Human milk for human babies Louisiana asking for breast milk donations, and it was through there that I met Jennifer, who lives in Monroe. She had an oversupply, and was looking to donate her milk! I drove from Shreveport to Monroe pick up milk, and a friendship was struck almost immediately. Our husbands hit it off too! My trips to Monroe happened at least once a month, and after a little bit, she introduced me to a friend of hers, Desiree who also had an oversupply, and then to her sister Brandy. We all had babies around the span of one year, Brandy’s daughter Arabella who was the oldest, Jennifer’s son Tyler who was 3 months younger than her, Desiree’s son Alex, who was 3 months younger than Tyler, and then my son, also Alex who was 3 months younger than the other Alex. Our hangouts became day long events with cookouts and chaos, as our friendship and bond developed. Eventually milk dried up, Alex no longer needed donor milk, and our excuse to hang out was no longer, but that did not stop us. We still made plans to get together often, and stayed in contact with our group chat and group snapchat. Our children have grown up together, and we have all watched each other grow as people! Brandy recently had her baby, but before she did, I knew I wanted to take the time to capture her maternity session. I packed up 10 of my favorite dresses, and made the trip to Monroe. I decided that since I was going to be there with pretty dresses, we were all going to play dress up, and take mommy and me pictures! Now my babies were sick that weekend, but that didn’t stop me from going! I am so glad we did, because I love these images, and I love these girls and their babies. Meet the Monroe crew!

4 women being silly on a bridge

I asked the girls a few questions about their session, and this is what they said!

Were you nervous about doing a shoot with me?

B - I’m not going to lie I was extremely nervous. I’ve never been the kind of person who liked to have their picture taken, but somehow Ashley not only managed to make me feel at ease but also to love the pictures she took of me

D - Yes, but only because of my rambunctious toddler lol

J- The first time, yes. I’m very self conscious about my body and tend to hate the way I look in pictures. But Ashley made me feel so at home and relaxed every time we take pictures that it melts my worries away. When we do a reveal, I absolutely love the photos every time.

What was your favorite part of the experience?

B- I love that Ashley was not only willing but at ease with including my daughter in my pictures. She handled her well and made both of us so comfortable in front of the camera.
D- Seeing the photos. I was so sure that my son was moving too fast to get any of him smiling, but Ashley got plenty of amazing shots!

J- My favorite part of the experience was that Ashley worked so well with my high energy son. She knew the perfect ways to refocus his attention and keep him engaged.

Would you recommend Growing with Gamble to your friends?

B- Absolutely, 100% yes! There’s something so amazing seeing her be so passionate about capturing photographs you will love for the rest of your life!

D- 100% YES! She definitely makes you feel comfortable. I was never scared with her. She makes you feel comfortable.

J- Absolutely. In fact, at this point most of my friends do get pictures done with her.

I loved photographing my friends and their babies! 3 beautiful women with 3 beautiful kiddos <3

Also- enjoy this amazing image of Jennifer running towards the camera with her dress billowing behind her looking like the cover of a historical romance novel!

Kanaan Personality Portraits

Special breastfeeding sessions

Feeding your baby, no matter how you do it, comes with challenges and joys. A couple of weeks ago, In honor of breastfeeding week, I offered free breastfeeding sessions to moms who wanted to capture their breast feeding journey and receive an image to treasure. The sessions booked up incredibly fast, and I ended up adding an extra hour of sessions and still having a waiting list! Day of we had a few cancelations, and a few last minute bookings, and the final total of sessions was 25. I photographed 25 woman and their little ones, and had so much visiting with past clients and meeting new ones! By the end of it, I was exhausted, but it was so incredibly worth it.

Breastfeeding your baby can be a wonderful and uplifting experience full of bonding and joy, but its not always easy. I asked these mama’s what the hardest part of breastfeeding was, and many of the answers included things such as always having to pump, the pain of their latch, low supply, the anxiety over them getting enough, clogged milk ducts, feeling touched out, mastitis, and even the constant stream of unsolicited advice or judgement. Overall however, they all agreed that it was worth it! Lindsay Galloway stated: “This is the hardest thing I have done, and probably will ever do, but every time those eyes gaze up at me, or his hand reaches for mine, I can’t help but smile.”

Mom holding her smiling baby in her lap

Lindsay Galloway with her son Konor

One mama, Claire Horn, stated: “The hardest part was the first 3 months. They are so trying! You’re hurting from child birth, you have a new human to keep alive, you have raging hormones, it’s just a mess! Figuring out how to pump, when to pump, cluster feeding, night feeding, etc and you’re the only one able to do it.” She also stated though that breastfeeding is “The most beautiful thing I’ve ever done and will ever do!” So yes. Its HARD. But also incredibly worth it!

Claire with her little boy Landon

When I decided to offer these sessions, I knew I wanted to learn about the different breastfeeding experiences people have had. Reading about each woman’s journey was enlightening and inspiring. and made these sessions even more special in my heart. Below are some quotes from some amazing mama’s about their incredible breastfeeding experiences.

Alyssa Swan with her son Rhett

“Being able to provide for my baby is the most amazing feeling.. knowing that I have to take care of him in every way is a lot but I wouldn’t change it for the world.. breastfeeding just gives and another special bond between you in your baby. It makes you feel so good that you are providing all the vitamins and nutrients that his body needs! It could be draining some times, but as soon as you see your baby eating and happy. It melts your heart and it makes you just wanna keep going!” - Alyssa Swan

Athena Mitchell and her daughter Lenora

“In the beginning, we had so many issues… Shallow latch, lip tie, tongue tie, side preference. I was so determined because I knew that some day, after the pain resided and all the issues were fixed, that it’d be the best feeling in the world for my baby girl to turn to me & find peace on my chest from her mama’s milk. 6 months later, laser surgery, countless lactation visits, months of awkward nursing positions…. We’re finally here, and it’s everything I could’ve ever dreamed of.” - Athena Mitchell

Chelsea with her son Mason

“I saw on a viral post, “it’s the hardest thing I have ever loved” and it so beyond true. Breastfeeding isn’t easy. It is so so hard. But I love it and I don’t regret giving it a shot. I’m surprised I’ve made it this far and I hope I make it to the one year mark.” -Chelsea Boswell

Taylor with her daughter Ariel

“With my first child I lost my milk supply at 4 months, I was absolutely crushed.. When I found out I was pregnant with my daughter, I was determined to make it to at the very least 6 months. Making it to 7 months with EBF is a major accomplishment for me. I feel so empowered.” -Taylor Myers

Sydney with her daughter Sutton

“Breastfeeding made me fall in love with the body I hated for the majority of my life. Seeing how I was able to not only grow an entire being inside me but continue to help that tiny human grow all through her first year and now into her toddler years each ounce of liquid gold at a time has given me a new found pride and appreciate for my body.” - Sydney Hammett

Rachel and her daughter Delilah

“In the few months I have been nursing Delilah, we have struggled through slow weight gain and severe illness with medications that reduced my supply to almost nothing. I was able to relactate, and I’m very thankful for the formula that kept her fed while I was sick, and the ability to continue nursing when I got better!” - Rachel Taylor

Nichole with her son Aiden

“It was hard at first but definitely got easier as he got older. Now it’s my favorite time, cuddling up with baby and nursing. It’s been difficult since he has not been able to have dairy and it requires more of me. It has also made my postpartum last longer but I love feeding him and I am I whiling to stick with it as long as I can.” - Nichole Smith

Meredith with her daughter Eloise

“Ellie is my rainbow baby after losing our daughter, Fiona to SIDS. I am so grateful for everyday with her, as well as being able to breastfeed her. She and I worked really hard to donate over 3800 ounces to local mamas this year, until my supply regulated to making just enough for Eloise.” - Meredith Hardman

All in all, These breastfeeding sessions were so much fun and I enjoyed meeting so many wonderful mama’s and hearing their stories!

Babies of the Rainbow

"You are a rainbow of possibilities"

Every little life finds their place in this big world, growing, learning, loving. It is our responsibility to nurture and teach these sweet babies as they grow so incredibly fast! I am so honored to have to opportunity to capture these six sweet babies, and cannot wait to keep photographing this group of kids! I had so much fun working with beautiful bold colors with equally bold babies, who loved showing off their personality for the camera!

Meet these beautiful babies of the Rainbow!

six newborn babies, each posed on a different color of the rainbow[

One thing pretty special about these babies, is they all had such amazing personalities already. They came ready to show off, and gave me all kinds of magic with their beautiful open eyes!

6 newborn babies, each photographed on a background a different color of the rainbow, with eyes open staring at the camera

Are you ready to meet the rainbow? We’ll start with Miss Scarlett who represented our red. How very fitting! She came in and slept so very well, letting me get so many precious poses of her sweet little face. Her mama and daddy are diehard Georgia Bulldogs fans and they wanted to incorporate this cool coke bottle! How freaking adorable is that.

sleeping newborn on red background holding a coke bottle

Next in the rainbow is Channing who represents Orange! She was so squishy and sweet, and she brought her A game when it came to letting her personality shine. During the baby led portion of the session, she gave me so many sweet and silly faces!

3 images of the same baby with orange backdrops.

Yellow is next, and our little yellow baby was ALL smiles. Meet Georgia, who was so chunky and precious, I didn’t want to stop posing and photographing her! She smiled in almost every setup, and even though she was over 3 weeks at the time of her session, she still slept deep enough for us to capture the sleepy poses!

newborn baby on yellow backdrop looking and smirking at the camera

Kindlin here, is the baby representing green and he is our ONLY BOY in this rainbow! As you can see below he has opinions about that. This sassy boy was not sure about me, and he made sure I knew it with this grumpy look. He was awake for a good bit of his session, but that just means I got so many images with amazing eye contact and even a few smiles!

newborn baby wrapped in green with a grumpy look on his face

I love girls in blue, and Scottlynn here is simply beautiful! Mama loves florals, and wanted me to incorporate flowers however I could. I love getting the chance to try new things and get creative! This sweet girl was so stinking cute, I just wanted to soak in all the snuggles!

newborn baby wrapped in blue on a bed with flowers surrounding her

Lastly, the baby representing purple was actually the first in the rainbow to get photographed and when her mama told me her room was princess themed, I knew exactly what to do. Miss Eloise was the first baby to get photographed in this adorable princess bed, and she totally rocked it!

newborn baby wrapped in purple resting on a princess bed with a crown

These sessions have been so much fun, and I have so enjoyed getting to use all these vibrant and fun colors! I already have plans for their 3 month sessions and cannot wait to get all these babies together in the studio in a few months!

Personality Portraits

These were probably the most fun model calls I have ever done. The premise behind these sessions is to capture your little ones portraits on all white, so that you can really see their sweet and sassy personality displayed in a series of images! I knew I wanted to get babies around 3-5 months of age, because that is where their personality truly begins to form and you get some of the cutest little expressions. I had so much fun with these babies and cannot wait to see them again! I will give more information about these new sessions I am offering at the end of this blog so scroll through the cuteness for the details!

Each baby was so different and so much fun, look at all these sweet portraits!

This is Kanaan, and he was not too sure about me at first. However my silly noises and faces won him over in the end, and just look at how PRECIOUS he is! All that hair and those beautiful eyes, he is a doll :)

Come get spring/easter photos done for just your kiddos or the full family! These sessions will be open to all. I wont be doing these sessions on one specific day, If interested, reach out and we can find a time that works for both of our schedules. I have weekday morning and weekend availability!

We will have a same day reveal of all the images, and you choose what you would like as soon as your session is over! I will then deliver the edited images in 3-7 days, so they will be in before Easter! I have a client closet available for little ones and mama's if interested!

PRICE:

$150 and you receive 5 digital images.

Sessions typically last 15-20 minutes, with the reveals lasting another 20-30 minutes directly after.
